Colors

How much to use (per 1/2 cup glue):

  • Acrylic paint: a pea-sized squeeze
  • Gel food coloring: 1–2 drops (wear gloves, it stains)
  • Mica powder: 1/4 tsp
  • Eyeshadow: a small pinch, crushed fine

Mix the color into the glue BEFORE the activator.

Skip Sharpies and other permanent inks. Washable marker ink is OK.

Scents & Add-ins

Scent: a few drops of kitchen extract, or 1–2 drops of essential or fragrance oil per batch. Keep it light.

Add scent after the squish forms. Patch-test oils on a small spot of skin first.

Household crunch

  • Broken styrofoam or packing peanuts
  • Small sponge cubes
  • Snipped plastic straws

Chunky glitter sheds less than fine glitter.

Wash your hands before and after every batch.

Stop if your skin gets red or itchy.

Keep it away from mouths, eyes, pets, and small kids.

Store each squish in an airtight container.

When you're done with a batch, put it in the trash. Never down the drain.

Save shaving cream for future fluffy squishes. Air-dry clay makes butter squishes, like Recipe #2.
